Syrian festival awards Iran’s ‘Old Man & Singer’

The LELOUN Int'l Film Festival in Syria awards Iranian doc ‘Old Man & Singer’.

The LELOUN International Film Festival in Syria has awarded Iranian documentary ‘Old Man & Singer’.

Amir Osanlou’s ‘Old Man & Singer’ was named the Best Documentary at the first edition of the Syrian festival, media reports said on Wednesday.

The film is about a man in the Syrian city of Aleppo. He is known as the sound of hope as he tries to rebuild his life among the ruins of the war that has gripped his country.

Some other Iranian films were also presented at the Syrian event, including Ahmed Zayeri’s ‘Saad’s Olive Tree’, ‘Command’ by Farshid Abdi, ‘Tumor’ by Javad Ganji, Lida Fazli’s ‘This Side, Other Side’, and ‘Mountain’ by Teymour Qaderi.

The LELOUN International Film Festival receives films made by amateurs and professionals from around the world.

The first edition of the event took place on September 21-25.
